Guest Speaker Session - Dr Panagiotis Sousounis
On April 18, 2024, IBA CDC collaborated with Dr. Faiz Ur Rehman to host Dr. Panagiotis Sousounis, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Manchester, as a guest speaker. Dr. Sousounis delivered a captivating lecture in our SESS Guest Lecture series, focusing on "The Market for Risky Jobs."
He provided valuable insights into risk assessment dynamics within the labor market, delving into the intricate balance between risk and reward. His expertise illuminated how wages for risky jobs are determined and how shifts in the job market, such as increased risk tolerance among workers, can impact employment levels and wage structures for these roles, including discussions on Hedonic wages function and Compensating Wage Differentials.
