Guest Speaker Session
On November 24th, 2022: IBA Career Development Center (CDC) organized a guest speaker session in collaboration with faculty member Dr. Asif Jaffar for the class Islamic Finance for Executive MBA.
Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui – SEVP & Head of Sharia Compliance. Meezan Bank, and Director IBA Center for Excellence in Islamic Finance, was invited as a speaker conveyed to students an understanding of banking functionality and how differently Islamic and conventional banks work. He mentioned that conventional banks are based on interest, while Islamic banks are based on profit-sharing.
He further enlightened on the strategic objective of Islamic banking & finance with an extensive focus on improving public perception of the Islamic banking industry as a distinct and viable system.
The session was backed by questions and answers.
