March 31, 2022: The IBA Career Development Center (CDC) in collaboration with the visiting faculty, Mr. Shahid Zaki, organized a guest speaking session for his Strategic Management class. Mr. Bashar Rasheed, General Manager - Business Excellence at Midas Safety, was invited as a guest speaker to deliver a talk on the topic "Mergers & Acquisitions".
Mr. Bashar began the session with an introduction on the subject. He shared a few integration concepts with concrete examples. He highlighted challenges of the M&A process, cultural and political integration required, the unclear social impact of leadership, and the lack of understanding of what made the business deal go successful. He also stated that the lack of managerial capacity to lead successful integrations has an impact on organizational performance. He also discussed business strategies that help organizations survive and compete.
In the Q/A session students clarifies their queries regarding the subject matter. They found the session very helpful.
