Corporate Connect Series | Guest Speaking Session
February 15, 2022: The IBA Career Development Center (CDC) organized a guest speaking session as part of its 'Corporate Connect Series' segment. Mr. Jahangir Piracha, Chief Executive Officer, @EngroPolymer&ChemicalsLimited was invited as a guest speaker to talk on the theme 'Managing the Organizational Change Process'.
Mr. Piracha insisted on the development of right skill sets to prepare us to compete globally. He also pointed out the innovation and diversity agenda. He clearly stated that not only gender, but other aspects of diversity are equally important to Engro without compromising on merit. He stated that women should be encouraged to contribute to the economic development of our country. He added that they should be facilitated by the organizations, especially during and after their maternity period, when they have multiple roles to play. He focused on work flexibility for employees who need it. He also shared the impact created by Engro by creating blue-collar jobs for the less privileged, by teaching the necessary skills and utilized those skills as part of their business operations. He shared some practical examples and cases from his vast experience of working with multiple organizations on different roles.
It was an interactive session where students asked candid questions related to the topic.
