Corporate Connect Series | Islamic Finance and Ethics

November 1, 2019: The CDC in collaboration with faculty member, Ms. Shazia Farooq invited the Senior Advisor at Meezan Bank, Mr. Najmul Hassan to deliver a talk on "Islamic Finance and Ethics".

Mr. Najm discussed major ethical issues and frauds committed by professionals in the corporate world. He shared few current practices on controlling frauds through risk and compliance departments in banks. According to Mr. Najm, we need to understand the core values required for benchmarking and identify the sources of these values.

Conclusively, he added that Islam is the source and solution to these moral dilemmas and the concept of religion in our minds is rather limited, narrow and generally inadequate.
