Lead the Change | IBA Virtual Career Fair 2021
March 17, 2021: Amidst the global pandemic, the Career Development Center (CDC) in collaboration with Alumni and Placement Society organized the first-ever and one-of-its kind, IBA Virtual Career Fair 2021. Foodpanda partnered for the event as a gold partner, Lay's as a silver partner, and Bayer Pakistan as a learning partner. The day-long event summoned more than 50 companies ranging from popular FMCGs and banks to pharmaceutical companies and start-ups. The virtual nature of the event enabled all the attendees to participate from the comfort of their homes and offices. The recruiters customized their virtual kiosks with vibrant graphics, engaging videos and useful information. Among the many facilities available for exhibitors, the virtual fair consisted of interactive group chat sessions where they could interact with the participants. The profiles & CVs of students and alumni were viewable and downloadable by participating employers. The students and alumni were able to access and download all relevant documents in their virtual swag bag, apply for posted vacancies, and talk to the booth representatives via audio and video chat.
A special career advisory program, Career Counselling Clinics powered by Bayer Pakistan engaged around 25 career advisors from a diverse range of industrial backgrounds. The experts guided students and alumni in their career exploration & development. The advisers imparted relevant information regarding different industries and responded to their queries on an individual basis. Another exciting feature of this year's career fair were the webinar sessions in which various companies and their personnel talked about their corporate culture, career opportunities and other wide range of topics which benefitted the audience to better prepare themselves for the corporate world. The virtual fair received phenomenal response and feedback from its stakeholders, while everyone appreciated the creative approach of hosting this event.
