Corporate Connect Series on "Carve a career in line with who you are"

March 28, 2019: The CDC hosted a Corporate Connect Series session in collaboration with Assistant Professor, Student Advisor & Academic Director, Ms. Nyla Aleem Ansari at the IBA Karachi main campus. The CEO of 'Unwind the Grind', Ms. Samia Hasan was invited to conduct a session with MBA students on "Carve a career in line with who you are".

The objective of the session was to help students identify a career in line with their personalities through different exercises. Ms. Samia described some key factors in making career choices including clear self-understanding and knowledge of occupations. She further explained how understanding your abilities, interests, ambitions and resources play an important part in carving your career.

The speaker also laid emphasis on having thorough knowledge of the requirements and conditions of success, advantages and disadvantages, compensation, opportunities, and prospects in different lines of work. The interactive session concluded with few activities lined up for students.

Samia is the CEO and founder of Unwind the Grind – millennial career development platform offering an interactive and inspiring place for youth based in UAE to accelerate their careers or businesses. She's a certified Strengths Strategy coach, Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner and IPCC from International Coaching Federation (ICF). After completing her MBA in Marketing, she started her career with Procter & Gamble, world leading FMCG organization. She worked her way up as a Senior Regional Brand Manager, growing some of P&G's billion dollar brands for almost a decade. Throughout this time, she experienced tremendous learning and growth, managed a huge business with multiple geographies and teams, until she discovered 'people development' as her true calling, thanks to being at the forefront of leading, coaching, training and mentoring at P&G.
