Showcasing my Success Story

The IBA has truly played a pivotal role in helping me fulfill my career aspirations. Prior to joining IBA, I worked at Qineqt as a financial analyst. I soon however realized that finance wasn't the function where I wanted to spend the rest of my life in. I had heard a lot about how IBA cultivated future leaders of tomorrow and therefore decided to give it a go and pursue my MBA from Pakistan's most prestigious and oldest business school.

The decision proved to be one of the best that I ever made with regards to my career. My two-year journey at the IBA has been a mixture of learning, real life market exposure, rigor and fun at the same time. While the journey was tough, my batch mates, faculty members and parents helped me steer through the obstacles and helped me fulfill my dreams.

The IBA's Career Development Centre (CDC) also played a crucial part when it came to securing internships and jobs. CDC has brought in a behemoth of opportunities which have truly benefitted all students of IBA including me. In my first year of MBA I interned at Pakistan Tobacco Company (PTC), subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT). The internship helped me transition from finance to marketing/sales paving the way forward for achieving my career aspirations. In my second year, CDC yet again fulfilled its duty to the fullest by bringing in a wide variety of diverse and reputed companies for us to choose form. By the end of my final semester I had two management trainee job offers, one from Abu Dawood and one from Coke. I had also reached the final stages of numerous other companies including Shan, Colgate Palmolive, TCS and English Biscuit Manufacturers. I accepted the management trainee offer from Coke in Commercial at the end.

In addition to internships and job postings, CDC also organized numerous workshops on CV building, art of acing assessment centers and tips on giving interviews. These workshops have helped me immensely in acing my job hunts. Again, I am extremely grateful to the IBA and CDC that have helped me in this two-year journey and helped me achieve my career dreams and aspirations.
