Session 4 by Faiza Savul

The fourth session of Corporate Connect series was conducted by Faiza Savul on the 30th November, 2017 at Main Campus, IBA.

Faiza Savul is a McGill University graduate and currently working as a Talent Acquisition Manager at ICI Pakistan. She has over 10 years of experience in the field of headhunting. She has successfully fulfilled the senior search mandates across functions within the FMCG, Retail, Oil & Gas, Construction and Manufacturing sectors.

Prior to her career in recruitment, Faiza worked for six years with TD Securities Toronto (the brokerage arm of TD Bank) in Canada. She has specialized experience in providing expert services for short-term money market and fixed income investments to corporates and medium sized commercial clients.

Faiza spoke about "How to ace Job Interviews – Essential Tips and Techniques". She initiated the session by briefly explaining the types of interviews that are generally practiced by the corporate sector. She emphasized on preparing before the time of interview. From researching about the company to time management specifically for the interview are pinpoints for a successful interview. Various Behavioral Questions were discussed extensively to guide students how to deal in those situations.

Moving on with Behavioral Questions, she further emphasized on preparing for effective answers. Rather than thinking of new details to answer the interviewer, opt for meaningful, logical and personalized answers by briefly explaining the work situations or challenges you encountered and the impactful action you took to resolve the issue.

Various handy tips were given to the audience for salary based questions. In the end, a reality check situation was demonstrated by Faiza, where she herself became the interviewee and was interviewed by a student.

We are thankful to Faiza Savul for taking out her valuable time and sharing her expertise with the students.
